The Story Behind
A Song For You was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2018; and has been recorded by scores of prominent recording artists including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Willie Nelson, Amy Winehouse and most famously Donny Hathaway. It's an intimate song about the quest for forgiveness and understanding from an estranged lover, which finds Russell singing about the deep connection between the two subjects.
