The Smashing Pumpkins staged a fictional funeral and experiential requiem titled "In Memoriam: Zero" in Hollywood, California, to symbolically lay Billy Corgan's iconic 1990s "Zero" alter-ego to rest. The private, theatrical event featured eulogies and surprise guests before the band played an intimate set.
The funeral and requiem were used to officially close the book on the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness era while simultaneously acting as the launchpad for their 2026 "Rats in a Cage" tour.
