The Story Behind
Bookending a “bad luck blue eye,” an angel and a devil (referring to "Thorn In My Pride”) look down upon the design, which is split into two different scenes…one dark and one light: A black moon is creeping in the sky within the interior circle, while a sunset scene (based on the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta) sheds light on some small details and lyrical references to multiple songs incorporated throughout the design. The sycamore tree that the crows are perched on is a reference to the band’s cover of "Time Will Tell” - which lyrically closes out the album’s “light versus dark” theme: “you think you're in heaven but you're living in hell."- Nathaniel Deas
