Details
A place in history.
We are proud to present the very special artist proofs of Dennis Larkins’ poster for the Dead & Company Sphere 2025 Residency.
Dennis' art for the Grateful Dead first became widely known with his creation of the 1980 Warfield Theatre and Radio City Music Hall event posters, leading to his 1981 “Dead Set” album cover design. His creative support for the band reaches back to 1974, as Bill Graham’s stage designer and scenic artist. It was through this connection that his iconic skeleton couple “Sam & Samantha” were originally created in 1978/79 as stage decorations for the Dead’s legendary New Years Eve extravaganzas.

Fast forward nearly fifty years, and “Sam & Samantha” come full circle to make a final appearance for their pals, Dead & Company, this time at the spectacular Sphere in Las Vegas. Sweet Homecoming.
